Mahmoud Tifouni, treasurer of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, confirmed the continuation of the series of field visits organized by the Society’s Friends of the Environment team as part of the “Spring Environmental Field Training Program.” He noted that “the Society’s Friends of the Environment team consists of young Kuwaiti men and women, aged 8-18, from school students, and they are the nucleus of the national cadres and elites in the Society’s specialized teams and committees. The Society is keen to ensure the comprehensiveness of their training through their participation in voluntary environmental work, and their awareness plan includes field training.”.
Mahmoud Tifouni explained that the visit of the Friends of the Environment team to the Wadi Al-Batin Reserve falls within the scope of proper environmental awareness regarding environmental habitats, resources and natural sites in order to enhance their protection and preservation. He praised the cooperation of the Director General of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, His Excellency Engineer Nasser Taqi, and commended Engineer Adnan Ali, Engineer Anfal Al-Khalfan and Engineer Yousef Taqi, who supervised the visit.
The treasurer of the Environment Society pointed out that “the field visit to Wadi Al-Batin Reserve included a comprehensive explanation of the importance of the projects to rehabilitate the damaged lands, which are funded by the United Nations under the supervision of the General Secretariat of the Kuwaiti Liaison Point. The field visit to Wadi Al-Batin Nature Reserve, which belongs to the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, also included an introduction to its importance, characteristics, and natural and natural components.”.
He explained that “the visit included a look at the nurseries, which contained a very large number of native plant seedlings ready to be planted in the sectors of the reserve. The visit also included a field activity to try planting native plants in one of the sites of the reserve, which had previously been secured by the Ministry of Defense and confirmed to be free of mines,” praising the Ministry of Defense for its efforts in clearing the lands before starting rehabilitation projects.
