Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, emphasized the importance of the practical trip she organized for her Friends of the Environment team to the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition at the Kuwait Oil Company, as part of the activities of the Field Environmental Training Week within the Youth Empowerment Program, which she organizes for high school and university students to introduce the importance of pursuing university environmental studies.
The Friends of the Environment tour of the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition in Ahmadi falls within the framework of the multi-faceted environmental partnership and activities between the society and Kuwait Oil Company.
Oil and Gas Exhibition
Al-Aqab said, «The scientific trip organized by the society for the Friends of the Environment team included, in addition to introducing the relationship between black gold and the environment, a presentation of the administrative and technical jobs that require environmental specialization, including geology of the earth, sediments and potential pollution, in addition to the petroleum products industry, as well as security, safety, health and others.».

She stated that the exhibition team was keen to address and present that distinguished journey of the oil industry in Kuwait through exhibits and simulation models that conveyed petroleum information and culture to the minds of the young team members, and also to highlight the efforts made by the company in protecting and rehabilitating the environment, «which requires thanks and appreciation for the efforts of those in charge of the Kuwait Oil Company, the Director of the Public Relations and Media Group at the exhibition, Engineer Muhammad Al-Basri, and the exhibition team for their tireless efforts in highlighting Kuwait’s civilized image to the exhibition visitors.».
Scientific tour
Wajdan Al-Aqab pointed out that during the scientific tour and the dialogue discussions it included between the youth and the exhibition officials, the possibility of using part of the profits to rehabilitate the soil and damaged environments on land and sea was addressed. She explained that the Friends of the Environment tour at the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition in Al-Ahmadi falls within the framework of the multi-faceted environmental partnership and activities between the society and the Kuwait Oil Company.

Al-Aqab praised the strategic and environmental partnership between the society and the Environmental Police, which was reflected in her accompanying the Friends of the Environment team during the tour and scientific trip to the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition. In this regard, she commended the efforts of First Lieutenant Badriya Saad Al-Yousef and Lieutenant Fatima Walid Sayed Ali in supporting and strengthening the team members during the trip.
