The Director of the Environmental Police Department visits the society

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society announced that “joint cooperation with the Environmental Police Department of the Ministry of Interior enhances the shared responsibility of the two arms of environmental work in the State of Kuwait, both its governmental aspect, represented by government agencies, bodies and institutions, and its societal aspect, represented by national civil organizations, and highlights the integration of dealing with the components and dimensions of the Kuwaiti environment and its evolving issues.” This came in a statement by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, during her meeting at the Society’s headquarters with Brigadier General Meshaal Abdulwahed Al-Faraj, Acting Director of the Environmental Police Department.

Dr. Al-Aqab stated that “the meeting addressed the forms of cooperation between the society and the Environmental Police Department since its establishment, in addition to its extensive and multiple participations in the society’s training programs and expert workshops, as well as the agreement on the Environmental Police Department’s participation in presenting scientific, awareness and educational topics on the Environmental Protection Law to participants in the Green Schools Program, which the society has been offering annually for 14 years to students, teachers and supervisors of the Ministry of Education and private education schools,” noting that “the meeting also addressed the topic of environmental awareness undertaken by the Environmental Police Department, and emphasized allocating space for the department to publish in the pages of the Environmental Magazine issued by the society, in order to enhance the department’s community awareness role.”.

In this context, Acting Director of the Environmental Police Department at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Meshaal Abdulwahed Al-Faraj, praised the Kuwait Environment Protection Society’s training, field, and environmental awareness roles for the department’s personnel. He expressed the continuation of all aspects of cooperation with the Society, considering it a major contributor to environmental efforts in the State of Kuwait. He affirmed that the Society’s Golden Jubilee programs and events will include multiple participations from the Department across several areas. He added that the accumulated shared experiences of the Environmental Police Department’s personnel and the Society serve the public interest by promoting environmental protection laws among all segments of society and age groups, especially among children and young people, including school students.
