Oil Minister Tariq Suleiman Al-Roumi, representing Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the official sponsor of the Environmental Engineers Forum and Exhibition organized by the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, affirmed that the opening of the Environmental Engineers Platform will be a major launch for them, noting that the event witnessed outstanding work carried out by the Society.
The society's public relations officer, Engineer Maali Al-Aqab, noted that the Minister of Oil, during the opening of the forum and his tour of the exhibition, showed great paternal attention to everyone by reviewing the content of all the participating pavilions. She added, "His Excellency Minister Tariq Al-Roumi was keen to listen to and discuss the projects presented by the first environmental engineers registered on the platform, and to review their project explanations at the exhibition in recognition of their excellence. These engineers are: Sarah Abdul-Redha Al-Ramzi, Yousef Abdul-Redha Al-Ramzi, Hussein Thabet Bu-Rumana, Hussein Thabet Al-Amir, Abdullah Jarrah Al-Rajeeb, Adel Tariq Al-Azmi, Mai Nasser Al-Qattan, Hamad Mohammed Al-Azmi, Alia Ali Al-Amir, Abdul-Razzaq Issa Al-Saai, Abdullah Yousef Al-Omran, and Yousef Abdulaziz Hajji." She confirmed that the forum and exhibition welcomed more than 500 visitors on the first day, including participants, invitees, and university students.
She stated that “the Environmental Engineers Forum and Exhibition, being an unprecedented event, witnessed significant participation from governmental, civil, and private entities in the accompanying exhibition, including: the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense, the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, the Ministry of Public Works, Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, Kuwait Municipality, the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment, Eco Environmental Consulting Foundation, Green Zone Company, and the Voluntary Pursuit Team.”.
She emphasized that His Excellency the Minister paid great attention to the participants and was keen to appreciate their participation by giving them time to present their efforts and achievements, praising them and encouraging them with a fatherly attitude whose encouraging effects exceeded all honor.
M. Al-Aqab explained that “the Friends of the Environment and Environmental Youth teams in the society, with their scientific environmental activities and events, were the first nucleus in qualifying and enhancing the skills of their members and pushing them to study environmental science and engineering,” citing as evidence that “two of the leading graduates of the Environmental Engineering specialization came out of the two teams, namely Engineer Sarah Al-Ramzi and Engineer Youssef Al-Ramzi, who were sent to study this modern specialization,” calling on parents and students to encourage them to engage in the activities of the Friends of the Environment and Environmental Youth teams in the society because of its impact on refining skills and directing interest in the environment to a reality that can be achieved.
She noted that “the Youth Environmental Team participated in organizing the forum and exhibition, while the Friends of the Environment Team managed the Kuwait Environment Protection Society’s pavilion, which displayed scientific publications, including various issues of the Environment Magazine, in addition to supervising and implementing the process of distributing the community environmental message to visitors, guests, and attendees of the exhibition,“ pointing out that ”the Minister of Oil praised the idea of the environmental message, focused on it, and wrote down one of its parts as a positive contribution from him towards the Kuwaiti environment.”.
Ms. Maali Al-Aqab praised the official patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and the attendance of his representative, the Minister of Oil, Mr. Tariq Al-Roumi, at the opening ceremony, commending the gold sponsorship of Kuwait Oil Company and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and the logistical sponsorship of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, Kuwait University, PDF Company, Kit Bag Company, and Blur Line Company, in addition to the strategic sponsorship of the Gulf Network of NGOs for Environmental Associations and the General Secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development at the General Union of Arab Producers at the League of Arab States.
