The Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection continued broadcasting its series of awareness messages as part of its responsibilities and community participation in confronting the rampant Coronavirus, including supporting the demand to implement total home quarantine, as well as praising the numerous measures taken by the concerned authorities in the State of Kuwait.<\/p>\n
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, head of the association, called for several things to be followed by the association or shopping center, including \u201cspecial sanitizers for shopping carts, and the cart should be sanitized before it is used by shoppers, and there should be a place to receive it and re-sanitize it, and use sanitizers for the cash register conveyor belt to sanitize it from everything and before and after each customer, as well as having monitoring to ensure safe distances between shoppers and taking immediate action regarding them, in addition to adopting payment by bank cards, while being careful and emphasizing that all employees wear gloves and masks.\u201d She pointed out the importance of avoiding bringing children to the associations, as it is necessary to ensure that they do not touch anything, praising the ban on bringing them while shopping by the responsible authorities in the country.<\/p>\n
Dr. Al-Aqab explained that safe shopping involves \u201crelying on a responsible person in the family to purchase orders, wearing masks and gloves while shopping, not touching the face and eyes, maintaining a safe distance while shopping or paying, not relying on workers to fill bags when purchasing and relying on oneself for this, in addition to paying by bank card and cleaning it with disinfectant after use, and returning the carts after emptying them in the car to their place where they are disinfected.\u201d.<\/p>\n
She praised the commitment of some of them to the requirements, following repeated visits to cooperative societies and shopping centers, adding, \u201cHowever, laxity was observed from some of them, and this comes from the lack of conviction of some of the officials and those in charge of them about the seriousness of the situation and the speed of its deterioration. It was also observed that children under the age of seventeen were shopping and loitering in the societies without any protection as if the situation were normal. Herein lies the low awareness of some parents of the seriousness of the situation, as they deal with the quarantine and the curfew only in terms of its timing and not its essence and the main goal of it, which is not to go out except when necessary.\u201d.<\/p>\n
She considered that \u201cthe call for a total ban on some areas has become a necessity, whether in areas where unaware expatriate workers are crowded or residential areas where residents are observed ignoring strict instructions despite their simplicity,\u201d appealing to everyone, \u201cFear God in yourselves and your children, and the head of the household must take charge of matters, and he must control and protect his family, and whoever lets children loiter in shopping centers must have the law applied to him, as there is no time for awareness now, even though this is the role of civil society, because time is running out with the increasing number of infected people and the rapid spread of the infection.\u201d.<\/p>\n
The head of the Environmental Protection Association concluded, \u201cToday we see that the Ministry of Social Affairs must implement safe shopping instructions by placing monitors in cooperative societies who have received sufficient awareness to ensure that they do not act according to personal whims and are keen to implement them to the letter.
