The Kuwait Environment Protection Society launched the activities of the eighth season of the (Documentary Series to Document Wildlife in Kuwait) by completing the external and field work for the television episodes that will be shown on Kuwait TV screens during the Ramadan programming cycle.<\/p>\n
The head of the society, Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, explained that \u201cthe eighth season comes with a rich scientific information package on the topic of each episode,\u201d announcing that the monitoring and documentation processes that are the subject of the program\u2019s episodes are carried out through work in more than one location, including nature reserves in the country and sensitive areas rich in wildlife, as well as some border areas. She emphasized that the program\u2019s team includes distinguished and specialized elites from the society\u2019s teams and committees, in addition to a distinguished group of scientists in the field of environmental work in Kuwait. She praised the cooperation of many governmental bodies and civil organizations for their good efforts exerted in many stages of the program\u2019s work through logistical support and facilitating the task of the society\u2019s members in monitoring and documentation. Among the most prominent of these bodies are the General Staff of the Army, the Ministry of Interior represented by the Public Security Sector and the Land Borders Sector, the Committee for Follow-up on Security Decisions, the Environmental Police, the Security Media Department, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the Environment Public Authority, the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, and the Environment Protection Fund.<\/p>\n
The head of the Environment Society and general supervisor of the documentary series documenting wildlife in Kuwait explained that \u201cmonitoring operations in border areas during external monitoring operations detected many wild plants of unusual sizes due to their protection in those areas. Among them were plants that were observed in the \u201cMahzoul border area\u201d in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior\u2019s Border Security during the filming of the eighth season of the documentary series documenting wildlife in Kuwait. This area was visited and the site was identified. It is characterized by sandy rocky soil in many places, and the ground has cracks from flash floods. She pointed out that many plants were observed and documented in the place, and they are numerous and dense, including the Rhamram and other perennial plants. However, the program team noted the presence of the Shabram plant, which is usually found in sources with a size and height not exceeding 60 cm. Some sources mentioned a possibility of 70 or 80 cm, but here in this location it reached a height of 145 cm. This is the benefit of protection and its presence in a protected and low-lying location that receives quantities of rainwater, even if small, during this dry season.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Dr. Al-Aqab confirmed that the completion of the external work for the eighth season is in line with the \u201cDocumenting Wildlife in the Border Areas of the State of Kuwait\u201d program, which comes in cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Society. It is entering its third consecutive season through the monitoring of wildlife in the border areas. She praised in this regard the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior with the Society in completing the work of the series and all joint activities, which the Society considers to be among its leading partners in protecting the environment. She considered that the information of the border security personnel contributes directly to saving the time that would have been wasted in the random search to reach the sites of the components of wildlife, and she praised their expertise in extracting information and statistics from their valuable observations in some sites and their monitoring of some of the living creatures that they monitor from time to time.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
