The Kuwait Environment Protection Society confirmed that the \u201cDocumenting Wildlife in the Border Areas of the State of Kuwait\u201d program comes in cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Society, and is considered the first of its kind to establish a database of biodiversity and wildlife in those areas.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abdul-Redha Al-Ramzi, head of the Environmental Documentation and Media Center, said that \u201cthe process of installing special thermal night cameras that have the ability to sense movement and start filming has begun, which saves battery power and leads to filming for a longer period without the need to change batteries, and therefore it is the best thing that can be used to monitor wildlife in remote areas.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Dr. Al-Ramzi explained that \u201cthe information provided by the border security personnel directly contributed to shortening the time that would have been wasted in the random search process to reach the specific locations of those creatures,\u201d stressing that the center is in the logistical and knowledge preparation stage for the launch of the wildlife documentation program in the border areas of the State of Kuwait during this week, indicating the keenness of the Environment Protection Society to determine the locations of the cameras with directional signs that specify the ownership of the camera and the reason for its presence, \u201cso the directional signs included the logos of the two partners, the Ministry of Interior and the Environment Protection Society, the name of the program, the nature of the camera and its number.\u201d.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that this distinguished documentation program coincided with the start of the \u201cEvery Day a Picnic 2\u201d program team\u2019s exploration of the border region and the filming of its episodes, which will be distinguished as the Kuwait Environment Protection Society has accustomed you to every Ramadan for the past five years, to crown the series of documenting wildlife in Kuwait with its sixth season dedicated to the border regions.\u201d He pointed out that the program planned to be launched to document wildlife in the border regions \u201cbenefits from the experiences of the border security personnel in extracting information and statistics from their valuable observations in some locations and their monitoring of some living creatures that they observe from time to time, as their eyes are the best observer of that nature due to the nature of their work and its location in remote areas.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abdul-Redha Al-Ramzi praised the support of the Ministry of Interior and the efforts of the staff of the Al-Shaqaya Center and the cooperation in the Al-Abraq sector for their efforts in supporting the work team, protecting them and enabling them to perform their work, noting that the distinguished program \u201cDocumenting Wildlife in the Border Areas of the State of Kuwait\u201d is a joint cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Kuwait Environment Protection Society and will be launched in a few days under the patronage of leaders in the Ministry of Interior who were keen to be present during that.
