Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, confirmed the end of the Society\u2019s sixth season for monitoring and documenting wildlife in the State of Kuwait with the end of the daily television episodes of the program (Every Day a Trip 2 Borders), which reviewed a part of the geological and natural features and wildlife in the outer regions of the State of Kuwait and documented wildlife and natural features in border places and outer sites.<\/p>\n
Dr. Al-Aqab extended special thanks to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Essam Al-Nahham, the Assistant Undersecretary for Border Security Affairs, Major General Salem Al-Nawaf, and the directors of the border security sectors, from the Al-Abdali sector in the north to the Al-Nuwaiseeb coastal sector in the south, for their efforts in supporting the team in monitoring the surveillance cameras and searching for the locations of living organisms. Through this, many creatures were observed and their habitats identified in various locations within the Al-Shaqaya area, as well as other sites. She pointed out that this cooperative program between the association and the Ministry of Interior has greatly benefited in identifying different environments and their biodiversity. She praised the cooperation and efforts of the Ministry of Interior through its various sectors, especially the Land Border Security Sector, in its cooperation and participation with the program's team in filming environmentally sensitive border areas. She noted that the filming team consists of the association's highly qualified members in the field of photography, whose expertise was reflected in the aesthetic presentation of the program using modern filming techniques. She indicated that the footage in this environmental awareness program is unique, as it showcases the beauty of the Kuwaiti environment in areas inaccessible to citizens and residents because they fall within border security zones. However, the cooperation with the Ministry of Interior in facilitating the work of the team had the deepest impact in producing an environmental masterpiece that adds a distinctive cognitive value to the series documenting wildlife in Kuwait.<\/p>\n
The head of the Environment Association added: \u201cThe sixth season was presented in only 21 episodes and did not complete the thirty due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 outbreak, which required physical distancing and the quarantine of some team members at times, in accordance with the health instructions of the Ministry of Health in dealing with the health situation in the country.\u201d She added: \u201cThe episodes included many border sites and were intended to facilitate the public\u2019s knowledge of the biodiversity in those sites, their geological features, and natural resources such as groundwater and others.\u201d The head of the association\u2019s board of directors and head of the work team, Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, noted that \u201csuch volunteer work and great effort exposed the work team to many dangers and losses resulting from moving in rugged sites and the difficulty of preparing and scientifically preparing some episodes, as this sometimes required carrying them out on-site due to the difficulty of accessing the site or the difficulty of repeatedly accessing it.\u201d.<\/p>\n
She pointed out that \u201cdocumentary work in open fields is among the most difficult documentation, filming, and programming work, as it is not drama in an indoor, closed, and safe location.
