The Kuwait Environment Protection Society announced the conclusion of the eleventh season of the "Green Schools" awareness program for the current academic year, in its combined version between in-person presentations with adherence to health requirements, in addition to electronic sessions via social media through Zoom technology.<\/p>\n
Board member and Director of Programs and Activities at the Association, Jenan Behzad, explained that the announcement of the conclusion of the 11th edition of the Green Schools Program was made by organizing a training workshop entitled \u201cInvesting in Planet Earth\u201d with the participation of 81 male and female teachers of public and private education specializing in science and social studies via Zoom technology to support training on the effects of climate change and adaptation plans in the State of Kuwait.<\/p>\n
Behzad explained that \u201cthe training workshop addressed topics of climate change, plastic waste, and the importance of changing environmental behavior through adherence to the Environmental Protection Law,\u201d noting the most prominent recommendations that emerged from the workshop and its dialogue sessions, including \u201cstrengthening the role of the teacher to motivate and train volunteer work in the educational institution, activating the role of school clubs and forming teams and groups to engage in work and exchange experiences among students, as well as stimulating work in social and environmental responsibility issues and their fields of work, in addition to paying attention to aspects of scientific research and encouraging the student to choose green scientific specializations.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Janan Behzad confirmed that the eleventh edition of the \u00abGreen Schools\u00bb program came as a continuation of the association\u2019s role in raising awareness and providing scientific and practical training to ensure the continuity of education and training through a wide range of learning materials available to access environmental information that is not available in educational curricula and that enhances extracurricular education, noting that \u201cthe eleventh season of the program addressed topics of solid and household waste management, energy and its provision, water conservation, climate change, in addition to the axes of biodiversity (birds, local plants, protected areas, marine biodiversity), and last but not least, the Environmental Protection Law.\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
