The Kuwait Environment Protection Society has made a new contribution aimed at enhancing environmental awareness among children, through the launch of a new book containing a set of interactive activities directed at that age group, as part of its celebration of World Habitat Day, which falls on October 7th of each year,\u201d said Jenan Behzad, Secretary-General of the Society, in line with the slogan of this day for the current year entitled \u201cEngaging youth to create an urban future.\u201d.
\nJanan Behzad pointed out that \u201cthe association\u2019s new publication, which is concerned with raising awareness among young people, reflects the Environment Society\u2019s commitment to the importance of educating and informing the younger generations about Kuwait\u2019s marine environment, as well as spreading correct environmental culture among them, in addition to motivating them to understand environmental diversity and interact with it in entertaining and educational ways.\u201d.
\nShe added, \u201cThe publication of this book comes as part of a series of initiatives organized by the Kuwait Environment Protection Society to raise awareness among young people about the importance of preserving the environment and natural habitats in Kuwait. The book is considered an innovative educational tool that aims to provide children with knowledge about marine organisms that live in Kuwaiti waters, in addition to explaining the vital relationship between these organisms and their natural environments.\u201d She also mentioned, \u201cThe book includes various activities, including interactive games, coloring, illustrations, and challenges that encourage children to explore the marine and terrestrial nature of Kuwait.\u201d.
\nThe Secretary-General of the Environmental Protection Society explained that \u201cone of the book\u2019s main themes is introducing children to the marine environment, as it discusses in detail the various marine organisms that live in these environments. Among these organisms, the book introduces children to different types of fish that are considered an essential part of Kuwait\u2019s marine heritage, such as grouper, silver pomfret, mullet, and trevally. The book provides simple and easy-to-understand information about the habitats of these fish, their importance in the marine ecosystem, and the ways in which children can contribute to protecting these organisms from pollution or overfishing.\u201d.
\nThe book highlights the tidal creatures that inhabit Kuwait's coastlines, such as starfish, snails, and crabs. It encourages children to observe and learn about these creatures in their natural habitat during beach visits, with activities designed to foster exploration of coastal areas and the vital role these creatures play in the coastal ecosystem.
\nJanan Behzad concluded by saying that this book is the second edition of the \u201cBeach Safari\u201d awareness program launched by the association years ago, announcing that the edition will be included in the 14th season of the \u201cGreen Schools\u201d educational program for the current academic year, noting that it \u201crepresents an important step towards involving children in protecting the environment, and is part of the association\u2019s vision to educate the rising generations about the importance of natural habitats and their role in preserving biodiversity in Kuwait, in addition to the association providing interactive educational materials targeting children, and it contributes effectively to building an environmentally conscious generation aware of its responsibilities towards the environment.\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
