The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Environmental Training, affiliated with the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, in cooperation with the Training and Development Department of the Ministry of Defense, organized a specialized training course entitled \u201cThe Green Compass: Your Guide to Understanding and Working for the Environment\u201d for a group of Ministry of Defense personnel. In this regard, Assistant Director of the Administrative Development and Training Department, Nazal Hamdan Al-Mu\u2019assab, emphasized the keen interest and encouragement of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Sheikh Abdullah Mishal Al-Sabah, and his support for the Training and Development Department in holding beneficial seminars and courses that positively impact the performance of the Ministry\u2019s employees. He commended the department\u2019s programs for developing diverse capabilities and skills, especially those aligned with the community-based initiatives led by national civil society organizations. Janan Behzad, Secretary-General of the Society and Director of Programs and Activities, commented that \u201cthe two-day course addressed several vital environmental topics, including: an introduction to environmental science, global environmental challenges, biodiversity loss, climate change, waste management, and the impacts of human behavior on the environment.\u201d She added, \u201cLocal and global issues such as coral bleaching, oil palm cultivation, and plastic pollution of wildlife were also highlighted.\u201d She noted that \u201cthe course was distinguished by its interactive sessions, visual presentations, and practical workshops, including a workshop on evaluating environmentally friendly products and practical exercises aimed at developing environmental development projects in Kuwait. Participants also had the opportunity to discuss environmental laws, such as Kuwaiti Environmental Protection Law No. 42 of 2014, and its impact on enhancing natural resource management.\u201d She emphasized that \u201cthis initiative is part of a series of programs organized by the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Environmental Training, affiliated with the Society, to build environmental capacity and promote a culture of environmental protection within governmental and private entities.\u201d She pointed out that \u201ctargeting Ministry of Defense personnel reflects the Society\u2019s belief in the importance of integrated roles in protecting the Kuwaiti environment.\u201d Behzad praised the cooperation of the Ministry of Defense\u2019s Development and Training Department with the Kuwait Environment Protection Society on several initiatives and training courses that increase community environmental awareness and contribute to engagement with environmental issues that intersect with all aspects of life, in addition to their role in sustainable development and their alignment with Kuwait Vision 2035.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
