The Kuwait Environment Protection Society successfully concluded the 14th season of its annual educational program, \u201cGreen Schools,\u201d which targeted teachers in public and private schools to activate their role as key players in disseminating environmental culture, health awareness, and education within educational institutions. Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Society, stated, \u201cWe continued to vigorously organize workshops and awareness lectures throughout the academic year as part of the Green Schools program, aiming to instill the values of environmental citizenship and public health within classrooms and schools.\u201d She emphasized \u201cthe importance of employing science and environmental awareness to support the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance environmental education for students and teachers.\u201d Dr. Al-Aqab noted that at the end of the current season, the Society launched the \u201cGreen Schools Guide,\u201d a comprehensive guidance document designed in a practical manner to direct schools towards implementing best environmental practices. She pointed out that it \u201cincludes an integrated framework for waste management, rationalizing energy and water consumption, and enhancing green spaces within schools. It also provides technical and educational guidelines for launching school environmental clubs and promoting student and teacher participation in sustainability initiatives, as well as mechanisms for measuring progress in school environmental performance through measurable criteria and periodic evaluation.\u201d \u201cThis guide reinforces the association\u2019s voice in the field of environmental education, equipping schools with practical tools to launch real initiatives towards a healthy and sustainable educational environment, which includes deeply rooted environmental values and scientific and awareness-raising activities,\u201d she continued. For her part, Janan Behzad, Director of Programs and Activities and Secretary-General of the Environment Protection Society, stated that the most prominent results of the season and future prospects were represented by \u201cthe broad participation, as the season included nearly 2,000 teachers and students from various schools across the country, within themes that included environmental analysis techniques, sustainable resource management, and the application of the Environmental Protection Law.
