He commended its dissemination of accurate environmental knowledge and culture by addressing various contemporary environmental issues. Furthermore, he highlighted the scientific and practical solutions offered by its constellation of writers to address these issues and environmental disasters facing the Arab world, both collectively and at the national level. During the meeting, Dr. Fathallah pledged to facilitate the participation of the Department of Environmental Affairs and Meteorology at the League of Arab States in contributing monthly articles, thus providing a valuable environmental window into the Arab world for Arab environmental stakeholders, specialists, researchers, youth, and the general public. It is worth noting that Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Mahmoud Fathallah serves as Director of the Department of Environmental Affairs and Meteorology and Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs at the League of Arab States. He holds a PhD in Economics from Cairo University and is an active member of numerous economic associations. He possesses extensive academic and practical experience in economic policy, having worked in various local and regional institutions, including the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates University in the UAE, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and USAID projects. He is also a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University and has several publications to his credit.
