Her Excellency Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs, met with Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters. They discussed the importance of promoting the human right to a safe, healthy, clean, and sustainable environment, particularly in light of the growing global focus on environmental issues in international forums, as well as the environment and climate change. During their fruitful meeting, the two sides addressed the importance of integrating environmental protection into Kuwaiti educational curricula to raise awareness comprehensively, specifically by instilling the concept of World Environment Day in the minds of Kuwaiti students, thereby reinforcing the understanding of individual impact on the environment. She considered this publication to be in line with the State of Kuwait\u2019s national and international commitments related to the environment, particularly under the umbrella of promoting a culture of human rights stemming from the State of Kuwait\u2019s Vision 2035, specifically its seventh pillar, \u201cA Sustainable Living Environment.\u201d Furthermore, she noted the importance of women\u2019s participation in executive tasks and even their leadership in this field, all of which fall under the umbrella of human rights to knowledge and community participation.\u201d Dr. Al-Aqab added that \u201cthe meeting with Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah addressed several activities and programs of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, which involve the participation of female staff in leading specialized teams and committees, as well as in applied and research programs.
