The Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KSEP) affirmed that its efforts and roles in environmental education align with and support the plans and programs of relevant government entities, including the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research. Furthermore, these efforts are consistent with programs supporting international partnerships aimed at enhancing food security and sustainability. This was emphasized in a press statement today by Engineer Yousef Abdulredha Al-Ramzi, Vice President and official spokesperson for the Society's Environmental Engineers Team, who outlined the Society's efforts in this area. He noted that KSEP's participation in the Second International Conference on Aquaculture and Biodiversity Conservation in Kuwait, organized by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research in collaboration with the Australian Embassy, focused on achieving food security and resource sustainability in the Gulf region. The conference, held under the patronage and in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Nader Abdullah Al-Jalal, highlighted the Society's endeavors in environmental education through a presentation documenting its numerous scientific, research, and training initiatives. He added, \u201cThe Green Schools Program, which the society has been offering for 15 consecutive years, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, and which benefits no less than 3,000 students annually from public and private schools, has played a pioneering role in raising awareness of environmental education. Through it, awareness has been provided on no less than 18 environmental topics and issues in lectures, workshops, exhibitions, environmental science competitions, and the establishment of environmental clubs in schools, in addition to encouraging students to document their environmental participation in the environmental document, which is considered an environmental biography for the student.\u201d He pointed out that \u201dthe society, through its Green Schools program, contributed to shaping overseas scholarship plans, noting that while the state has a scholarship program for studying environmental engineering, there is a lack of awareness regarding the importance of these specializations. The society, as demonstrated by the experience gained between 2015 and 2017, and which continues to this day, increased the number of scholarship recipients from 5 to 150 students during that period by raising awareness of the importance of studying environmental science and engineering through the Green Schools program activities targeting eleventh and twelfth grade students. Furthermore, the society is working to have the title of 'environmental engineer' officially recognized and included in the state's employment plans.\u201d He added, Yousef Al-Ramzi, speaking about the educational aspect of the Environment Society and its focus on environmental education, said: \u201cThe Society has contributed to reviewing the environmental curricula at the Ministry of Education and submitted proposals. Furthermore, the Ministry of Education approved our proposal to include November 6th \u2013 the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict \u2013 in the curriculum.\u201d He also emphasized that \u201cthe Society\u2019s commitment to providing training for teachers on climate change curricula and beach safaris, in cooperation with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Environmental Training, has had a positive impact on the educational process by supporting teachers\u201d efforts in providing educational tools and accurate knowledge in this field.\u201c Regarding community awareness of the environment, he highlighted \u201cthe awareness provided by the series of documentaries on wildlife in Kuwait, particularly those closely related to biodiversity, the diversity of terrestrial and marine environments, the Environmental Protection Law, and the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, it showcases the roles and contributions of all relevant entities in the country.
