The head of the network and president of the association, Wajdan Al-Aqab, stated in a press statement today that the Gulf Network of Environmental Associations, whose executive office is headed by the Environmental Protection Association, intends to hold the second Gulf Youth Environmental Forum with a large student participation of members of the “Empowering Youth and Friends of the Environment Program” from the affiliates of environmental associations in the GCC countries, aged 8 to 18 years, in order to encourage them to engage in the environmental field.

She stated that “the second Gulf Youth Environmental Forum addresses issues of technology and scientific research in service of the environment, the role of youth in protecting the environment, the role of civil society in supporting and assisting youth in protecting the environment, educating youth about the serious effects and causes of climate change, in addition to discussing the most important environmental problems that concern youth, and introducing them to environmental specializations and jobs needed by the labor market in the environmental field.”.

In turn, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Ali, Vice President of the Network and President of the Friends of the Environment Society in Abu Dhabi, confirmed in a press statement the preparations for receiving the participating delegations upon their arrival, adding: “Work has been done to obtain the necessary permits for the exhibition and Masdar City, and to prepare the forum’s program, which will include an intensive program of lectures, workshops, and discussion sessions.
