Celebration of the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict – November 6

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Salem Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Society, in cooperation with the strategic sponsor, Kuwait Oil Company, and with the participation of the General Secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development of the General Union of Arab Producers affiliated with the League of Arab States, and the Gulf Network of Environmental NGOs, organized the celebration of ”International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflicts – November 6”. This year’s celebration was attended by many governmental bodies and institutions, as well as Gulf, Arab and foreign embassies, in addition to honoring national and foreign elites and teams whose efforts contributed to this year’s celebration, which was themed “In the Aftermath of the Environmental Disaster… Rehabilitating Lands Affected by Oil Pollution”. The celebration highlighted this through distinguished workshops that included ”Environmental Impact Assessment“, “Soil Rehabilitation Group 1, 2 at Kuwait Oil Company, Before and After Rehabilitation”, and the official launch of the Inter-Engineers Team of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society.

The society also honored the sponsors, represented by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the CEO of Kuwait Oil Company, in addition to the Director General of the Environment Public Authority, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Resident Coordinator in the State of Kuwait, in addition to awarding the Environmental Excellence Medal to national elites who shone in the sky of environmental giving, and honoring the participants in the rehabilitation of the damaged lands, including the land and soil rehabilitation team in Kuwait Oil Company (Soil Group, Soil Rehabilitation Group 1 and 2), the Kuwaiti liaison point team and the Environment Public Authority team, as well as honoring the national companies that contributed to this, in addition to honoring international companies by honoring the embassies of their sisterly and friendly countries, up to honoring the diplomats who participated in the campaign to raise awareness of November 6, as well as honoring governmental bodies that are known for their national efforts to make the celebration a success.
