The network works to highlight Gulf efforts in environmental protection, establish a shared information base, and support initiatives and projects that contribute to environmental rehabilitation and sustainable development.

Four institutions launched a shared Gulf vision

The idea for establishing the network originated from four leading non-governmental environmental organizations, with the aim of creating an organized Gulf framework for cooperation, exchange of expertise, and implementation of joint environmental initiatives.

Network devices and membership

The network consists of two main devices that ensure its operations are managed, decisions are made, and plans are implemented.

General Assembly

The network’s supreme authority, responsible for approving plans and regulations, accepting memberships, approving the budget, and making key decisions.

Executive Office

It undertakes the implementation of the decisions of the General Assembly, manages the work of the network, and represents it in regional and international meetings (Kuwait Environment Protection Society).

Legally registered environmental organizations may apply for membership, and membership is approved by a majority vote of the general assembly.

Comprehensive, non-governmental environmental associations that meet the requirements and are approved by the general assembly.

Specialized associations, governmental and private institutions, and individuals active in the environmental field.

Network basic system

The bylaws regulate the network’s objectives, membership, management bodies, decision-making mechanisms, financial system, and general provisions.

The network believes that cooperation between environmental institutions is the foundation for building a more sustainable future for the Gulf countries, and continues to work on supporting initiatives and partnerships that achieve this goal.
