Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Society for Environmental Protection, indicated that during the filming of the sixth season of monitoring and documenting wildlife in the State of Kuwait, the team of the “Every Day a Picnic” program, in its second part for the upcoming Ramadan season, monitored many of the rich components of biodiversity in the Al-Ratqa sector in the “Umm Sidira” area, including birds and nests, which indicates the extent of the rich wildlife that the region possesses with tremendous diversity.
Dr. Al-Aqab explained that “the Umm Sudayrah area used to contain one Sidr tree, and now, thanks to the efforts of the members of the land border security, they have multiplied it by taking its offshoots and planting them in front of it until the offshoots became ten Sidr trees growing to a height of about 3 meters, and Umm Sudayrah is no longer alone in terms of Sidr trees, but now has a total of 11 Sidr trees.”.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, praised the cooperation of the Border Security Sector in documenting and monitoring wildlife and assisting the team of the Environmental Awareness Program for the sixth consecutive season in its documentation tasks in the border areas, “which reflects the seriousness of the Ministry of Interior in supporting environmental volunteer work and the leadership’s understanding of the importance of their complementary roles with civil society.” She commended the directives of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Essam Al-Nahham, to the relevant sectors in the Ministry to provide all forms of logistical support to the Society’s team, which is tasked with completing the sixth season of its television series of episodes to monitor and document wildlife in Kuwait, which is scheduled to be shown in the programming cycle for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
She added that the external field monitoring and documentation operations for the sixth season of her television series of episodes to monitor and document wildlife in the State of Kuwait, which were launched during the past few weeks, reflect the importance of the environmental partnership initiative included in the cooperation protocol between the society and the Ministry of Interior, which aims to develop capabilities, develop and enhance environmental volunteer work skills and instill concepts of environmental citizenship.
