Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection, expressed her appreciation to the organizers of the UN “Blue Zone” at the “COP27” Climate Summit currently being held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Arab Republic of Egypt, for facilitating arrangements to reserve a pavilion for the Society to showcase its projects, production, and programs.
Dr. Al-Aqab explained that the association’s pavilion included visual displays, awareness panels, and specialized publications, in addition to “displaying a series of documentary programs to document wildlife in the State of Kuwait, which included more than 200 episodes that addressed many environmental topics such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the impact of climate change on some living organisms, in addition to addressing some environmental problems resulting from violations and wrong practices in dealing with the environment, as well as the results of climate change.”.
She noted that the official spokesperson for the Environmental Engineers Team at the Association, Environmental Engineer Yousef Al-Ramzi, took on the task of providing logistical and technical support to the Association’s delegation, pointing out that “the Kuwait pavilion received large numbers of participating visitors from all over the world, showcasing environmental awareness, education and media projects on many important environmental issues, especially climate change.”.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab praised the “visit of the Director General of the Environment Public Authority, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, to the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection’s pavilion, a gracious visit that reflects the official State of Kuwait’s interest in supporting Kuwaiti civil society institutions, something that has always been present and has distinguished the governmental relationship with civil society institutions in a way that is not witnessed in many other countries, which contributes to strengthening and supporting voluntary activity in the State of Kuwait.”.
