The association's pavilion at "COP 29" is a bright Kuwaiti window

The scientific pavilion of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection, located in the Blue Zone designated for governments and international environmental organizations accredited by the United Nations Environment Programme as observers, witnessed a large turnout from the public and representatives of international bodies participating in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), currently being held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku. This was confirmed by Hadeel Al-Aradi, a member of the Society and supervisor of its pavilion at the Climate Summit.

Al-Aradi stated that the Environment Protection Society’s pavilion presented visual presentations throughout the summit’s daily hours of a documentary series documenting wildlife in the State of Kuwait. The episodes shown included more than 200 episodes from 8 seasons of the series, which attracted large numbers of people eager to learn about the various components and elements of wildlife in Kuwait. This was reflected in their inquiries about the various topics of the episodes and what they presented of birds, plants, geological nature, terrestrial, marine, and coastal creatures, and beaches with natural and environmental habitats in large numbers, which provided accurate information about the biodiversity in the State of Kuwait.

She explained that “the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection’s participating pavilion enhanced the prestigious position of the State of Kuwait among the summit’s audience, as well as the positive impression it deepened for them regarding the interest in environmental issues in the State of Kuwait, especially in its community aspect, represented by the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection. At the same time, it received a great deal of interest from representatives and members of delegations from many governmental bodies and international civil organizations participating with specialized pavilions at the summit.”.
