As part of efforts to enhance community preparedness and improve emergency response, the Youth Environmental Team of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society participated in a specialized first aid course organized by the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and presented by Dr. Fawzi Al-Khuwari, President of the Kuwaiti Society for Crisis and Emergency Management. In this context, Abdullah Al-Tamimi, head of the Youth Environmental Team at the Society, emphasized that “the team’s participation in this course stems from their national and humanitarian responsibility and their commitment to strengthening their skills in dealing with emergencies, especially given the current regional circumstances that demand a high level of preparedness and effective readiness from all segments of society.”.
Al-Tamimi explained that “the course contributed to equipping participants with the essential knowledge and skills for dealing with injuries and critical cases,” praising “the scientific and practical content presented by Dr. Fawzi Al-Khuwari, which reflects his deep expertise in crisis and emergency management.” He added that “the team is not content with training alone, but seeks to translate this knowledge into fieldwork, as a number of team members volunteered with the Kuwait Red Crescent, driven by a desire to serve their country and community and contribute to supporting humanitarian efforts during this critical time.”.
He noted that “such initiatives reflect the vital role of civil society organizations in promoting a culture of volunteerism and building the capacities of young people,” emphasizing “the team’s continued participation in high-quality training programs that contribute to achieving community sustainability and enhancing human security.” He concluded by affirming that “investing in the capabilities of young people is the cornerstone of a more aware and better prepared society to face challenges,” calling for “expanding the scope of these programs to include all segments of society.”.
