The Voice of Kuwaiti Civil Society at the United Nations
Where governments negotiate the climate’s future,
Kuwaiti civil society has one voice in the room.
KEPS is the only Kuwaiti civil society organization accredited as an observer to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It enters climate summits through the Blue Zone, reserved for governments and accredited organizations, and brings Kuwait’s environmental issues and success stories with it.

Observer status in the climate convention

On November 5, 2001, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 56/4, designating November 6 each year as the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. The Society takes its awareness campaign for this day to climate summits year after year.
