Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, expressed the gratitude and appreciation of the Board of Directors and members of the Society’s specialized teams and committees for the quick response of the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Baddah Al-Mutairi, to discuss several environmental media issues, which reflects the interest of the state’s media apparatus in supporting and contributing to their dissemination.
Dr. said. Al-Aqab stated that she met with His Excellency Minister Abdulrahman Baddah Al-Mutairi at his office in the Ministry of Information to present a pilot episode of the program “Every Day, Yal 2.” He expressed his admiration for the pilot episode's content, which clearly reflects human effort, and commended the program's concept, hoping it would be a valuable addition to the environmental media library in Kuwait and the region. She explained that “the pilot episode I presented to His Excellency reflects the association's keenness to showcase the elements and components of wildlife and the diverse environments in the country. Furthermore, the program addresses environmentally and naturally sensitive sites and habitats in the State of Kuwait, in addition to highlighting the environmental roles of numerous governmental bodies, agencies, and private sector partners in environmental protection. Many sovereign and service entities participate in supporting the series logistically to highlight these important roles, which contribute to environmental work in the State of Kuwait. These include the General Staff of the Army, the Ministry of Interior and its various departments, the General Fire Force, the Environment Public Authority, the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs, Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Information, and research institutions such as Kuwait University and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.” For scientific research, in addition to the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and its role in supporting the dissemination of science and knowledge, the Environmental Protection Fund and its role in supporting environmental projects, and other entities.”.
She added, “The Kuwaiti public has become accustomed to following this series during the month of Ramadan, as this contributes to the success of the desired environmental awareness process. The association extends its sincere thanks to the Ministry of Information for its keenness to continue such cultural documentary works on Kuwait TV screens. In doing so, it succeeds in performing its media role to support environmental awareness in the State of Kuwait, in line with the state’s procedures for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, especially those related to life at sea and climate action, namely Goal 13, which concerns climate action, and Goal 14, which concerns life below water.”.
Dr. explained. Al-Aqab stated that “Every Day Program 2” is part of the seventh season of the series documenting wildlife in the State of Kuwait. Filmed, produced, and directed according to the highest standards of educational documentary work, the series covers the biodiversity of Kuwait, including its various habitats and environments, their characteristics, and features. The series aims to raise environmental awareness within Kuwaiti society, introduce the Kuwaiti environment and its components, and explain how to preserve it. It also highlights interconnected events related to environmental issues and the impact of harmful practices on the environment. Furthermore, it introduces the Environmental Protection Law No. 42 of 2014, as amended by Law No. 99 of 2015, raising awareness of penalties and how to avoid violations. The series also introduces the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 by highlighting numerous environmentally related objectives that both influence and are influenced by the environment. In addition, the series contributes to achieving the environmental goals of Kuwait Vision 2035 and showcases the strength of civil society in environmental matters at Gulf, Western, and international forums through participation in Gulf and regional exhibitions, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and the United Nations Environment Programme. UNEP and confirmation of the association’s seat in the program and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and participation in Arab forums through the General Secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development, the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED), the League of Arab States, and the Gulf Network of NGOs for Environmental Associations.

Wajdan Al-Aqab highlighted the role of the Ministry of Information in the success of the series' objectives, which is demonstrated by its support of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society. This support is manifested through ensuring the series' broadcast on Kuwait TV channels throughout the year to raise awareness. The first broadcast takes place during Ramadan, a tradition the public has followed for over six consecutive years. This educational series on wildlife in our beloved country provides Kuwait TV with environmental media content overseen by specialists. Furthermore, the program achieves high viewership, with many eagerly anticipating it daily to learn about the diverse environments and creatures in Kuwait. By broadcasting the program, the Ministry of Information sets a national example of supporting national volunteer efforts. The Society's documentary programs on wildlife in Kuwait achieve high viewership ratings. According to statistics from the Ministry of Information and Kuwait TV, the Society's programs consistently rank highly in viewer polls. The Society is committed to including a wealth of information and visual environmental content in each episode, condensing it into its short duration. The documentary series is also utilized by Ministry of Education teachers, who use the episodes with students to provide guidance and resources for their own learning.
