The “A Plant Every Day 2” program reflects the database of land border security personnel.

Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, affirmed that the cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Society continues to be distinguished by utilizing expertise, exchanging environmental information, and supporting capabilities to form an integrated database with interconnected environmental relationships. This is within the framework of strengthening cooperation and environmental partnership between the Ministry of Interior and the Society, and enhancing efforts to produce the “Every Day a Plant 2” program for this year, which deals with native plants in nature reserves and border areas of the State of Kuwait. She praised the directives of the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Lieutenant General Anwar Al-Barjas, to the relevant sectors in the Ministry to provide all forms of logistical support to the Society’s team tasked with completing the eighth season of its television series of episodes to monitor and document wildlife in the State of Kuwait, which is scheduled to be shown during the Ramadan programming cycle.

Dr. Al-Aqab indicated that the Ministry of Interior is one of the most prominent environmental partners of the association, stressing that the departments and sectors of the ministry, represented by the “Committee for Follow-up on Security Decisions, the Traffic and Operations Sector, the Public Security Sector, the Land Borders Sector, the Public Relations and Security Media Department, and the Environmental Police,” each in its security field, present good images that reflect their national sense through their great logistical support, which is in line with the directives of Lieutenant General Anwar Al-Barjas to provide security approvals for issuing entry and photography permits within the border areas rich in wildlife components, in addition to providing protection and accompaniment to the work team, as well as various aspects of cooperation and first logistical support for the work team.

She praised the cooperation of the Border Security Sector, specifically the personnel of the Jraishan Center in the Khubari Al-Awazem sector, in documenting and monitoring wildlife and assisting the Environmental Awareness Program team for the eighth consecutive season in its documentation tasks in the border areas. “This reflects the Ministry of Interior’s seriousness in supporting environmental volunteer work and the leadership’s understanding of the importance of their complementary roles with civil society.” She commended the Border Security personnel for their interest in certain environmental aspects, such as the wild plants found on the border between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq, through her frequent visits to the border areas to film the second part of the “Every Day a Plant” program. She emphasized that a large number of Ministry of Interior personnel in the Border Security Sector at those border locations possess information about those areas that is suitable for establishing a distinguished database on wildlife in those locations.
