The society: Global support for the "ceasefire initiative" at the COP29 climate conference in Azerbaijan

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society announced that dozens of regional, Arab and international environmental civil society organizations have responded to the global environmental appeal to support the “truce initiative” recently proposed by the Republic of Azerbaijan to take place before, during and after the “Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP 29,” which it will host from November 11-22 in the capital, Baku.

The society supports the Azerbaijani initiative “Summit Truce” to halt wars during the climate summit in Baku.

“The Kuwait Environment Protection Society announced its support for the “Summit Truce” initiative proposed by the Republic of Azerbaijan, the chair of the United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change “COP 29,” scheduled to be held in the capital, Baku, from November 11-22,” said Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Society, during her meeting with the Azerbaijani Ambassador, Emil Karimov, at his office in the embassy.

The association joins key groups and stakeholders in the United Nations Environment Programme in celebrating World Environment Day

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society continued its international participation in the celebration of World Environment Day. Like other environmental societies accredited by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for the West Asia region, it participated as part of the program's main groups and stakeholders (facilitators team). The Society's participation was represented by its Chairperson, Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, as the West Asia facilitator, and Faisal Al-Fadhel, Secretary General of the Forum, also participated.

The association is organizing a dialogue session as a side event to the climate summit on food security.
