Celebrating the International Day for Biological Diversity

Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, Chairperson of the National Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, affirmed that “we in the National Committee of the IUCN – Kuwait believe that protecting biodiversity is not a luxury, but a national and moral duty, and a guarantee for the future of generations. The Minister of Oil was briefed on the latest developments regarding the organization of the Kuwaiti Environmental Engineers Forum and Exhibition.

Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, confirmed that her meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Oil and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Tariq Suleiman Al-Roumi, at his office addressed numerous environmental issues in the State of Kuwait, both in their executive aspect, represented by the Environment Public Authority, and their societal aspect, represented by the Society. The meeting emphasized the integration of roles for the public good, particularly given the Society's proven competence and efficiency.
The society continues its environmental awareness and practical campaign at the Red Palace

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society completed its participation in the Red Palace in the second week, with the participation of the Bird Monitoring and Protection Team, the Environmental Youth Team, the Friends of the Environment Team, and the Photography Team of the Society, scientific and applied activities, “an environmental awareness and applied campaign”, dedicated to the people of Al-Jahra Governorate, within the framework of its community celebrations for the opening of the Red Palace, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of preserving migratory birds as an integral part of the local environment.
The association and the US embassy are collaborating on environmental awareness.
