Al-Aqab indicated that the assembly witnessed a large turnout of members of the general assembly who were keen, with the rights available to them, to activate their roles, and this was evident through the discussions and inquiries about the items of the assembly’s contract, noting that the meeting was characterized by transparency in presenting the items through the announced numerical vote on each of them separately.
She reported that “the meeting concluded with a high voter turnout for the items on the agenda, leading to the vote on the nine candidates. These included the seven members of the “Environmental Excellence List,” who secured the top seven positions and received the highest number of votes, in addition to Dr. Adiba Al-Harban, who came in eighth place, and Dr. Ali Boumjadad, who came in ninth.” She noted that the voting process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the organization provided by the association through two voting committees to accommodate the large turnout. She commended the general assembly members for their attendance and participation in the discussions, which took place in a friendly atmosphere reflecting a strong sense of national responsibility and promoting the association’s social responsibility and the values of environmental volunteer work. She praised the leadership of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the officials of the Department of Civil Societies, who formed a specialized committee from their staff to oversee the electoral process and manage the general assembly. She also commended Jamal Al-Fajji and Dhafer Al-Ajmi for their outstanding efforts in cooperating with the association to ensure the general assembly was conducted in such a commendable manner. Special thanks were extended to the association’s lawyer, Mohammed Taleb, and member, Nawaf Al-Muwail, for monitoring the voting process and the vote counting. By mandate of the Environmental Excellence List.
In a kind gesture, the association invited members of the general assembly who were unsuccessful in the elections, as well as those who had submitted their candidacy and later withdrew, to contribute to the association’s programmatic journey with their accumulated experience in all areas of voluntary environmental work, announcing that the association’s doors are open to them through their involvement in the specialized teams and committees.
