Lieutenant General Essam Salem Al-Naham, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, received Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection, at his office, in order to strengthen cooperation and environmental partnership between the Ministry of Interior and the Society, and to promote the success of efforts to produce the “Every Day a Picnic 2” program, which deals with the environments and picturesque nature on all border areas of the State of Kuwait, in order to activate the cooperation protocol between the Ministry and the Society.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, head of the Environmental Protection Association, explained that she met with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Essam Salem Al-Nahham, praising his directives to the relevant sectors in the Ministry to provide all forms of logistical support to the association’s team tasked with completing the sixth season of its television series of episodes to monitor and document wildlife in the State of Kuwait, which is scheduled to be shown in the programming cycle for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Aqab expressed her thanks and appreciation to Lieutenant General Essam Al-Nahham and to those in charge of the departments and sectors involved in cooperation with the association for their good efforts in advancing the cooperation between the association and the ministry, which benefits Kuwait through participation in environmental and awareness-raising projects. She indicated that the Ministry of Interior is one of the most prominent environmental partners of the association, stressing that the ministry's departments and sectors, represented by the Security Decisions Follow-up Committee, the Traffic and Operations Sector, the Public Security Sector, the Land Borders Sector, the Public Relations and Security Media Department, and the Environmental Police, each in its security field, present a good image that reflects its national sense through its great logistical support, which is in line with the directives of Lieutenant General Essam Al-Nahham to provide security approvals for issuing entry and photography permits within the border areas rich in wildlife components, in addition to providing protection and escort for the work team, as well as various aspects of cooperation and first logistical support for the work team.
She added that the external field monitoring and documentation operations for the sixth season of her television series of episodes to monitor and document wildlife in the State of Kuwait, which were launched during the past few weeks, reflect the importance of the environmental partnership initiative included in the cooperation protocol between the association and the Ministry of Interior, which aims to develop capabilities, develop and enhance environmental volunteer work skills and instill concepts of environmental citizenship.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab stated that the “Every Day a Picnic 2” program is a continuation of the television episodes to monitor and document wildlife in the State of Kuwait for this season and will be shown daily on television screens. Each episode will last from 7 to 10 minutes, providing a scientific overview rich in information about the elements and components of wildlife in the location and region of the episode. She revealed that each episode includes a visual presentation of its natural habitats and its relationship to Kuwaiti heritage, as well as a historical narrative and description of those areas and their importance in Kuwaiti heritage.
