The Kuwait Environment Protection Society stressed the importance of citizens and residents adhering to the Ministry of Health's ongoing guidelines and instructions, expressing its deep gratitude to them as they are on the front line of defense for the State of Kuwait against the spread of the Coronavirus […]
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, the head of the association, presented some guidelines and insights in this regard, saying: “Many homemakers may think of taking advantage of this time to invest it in their homes by carrying out repairs, renovations, and other tasks that they may have left due to their busy schedules. Consequently, companies are called in to carry out such repairs, which may be very necessary in our homes. Despite the Ministry of Health’s emphasis on instructions and warnings regarding interaction between individuals, the necessity of maintaining safe distances, and the use of sanitizers, as well as masks and gloves, care must be taken within the home, and the homeowner must implement quality control, as the worker may be negligent or forget to follow these instructions.”.
Dr. Al-Aqab explained that the association calls on citizens and residents to ensure that all needs are met for the workers they receive in their homes to perform some necessary tasks, adding: “First, the citizen or resident homeowner must ensure that the work team is not outside the country or coming from any country and verify that they have been tested at the testing centers that the State of Humanity has not hesitated to provide for everyone in order to preserve the safety of everyone residing in the State of Kuwait. It is necessary to prepare a basket containing hand sanitizers, disposable plastic gloves, and masks so that the workers enter through the entrance of the house and are directed to wash their hands with soap and water and dry them with paper towels, which are disposed of in a trash can near the sink. Then they sanitize their hands with sanitizer, put on the gloves and mask, and proceed to perform their task in the house.”.
The head of the Environmental Association called for “ensuring that workers are not left unattended and monitoring the situation until they have finished their work inside the house. Children should never be left near the work site, and the elderly should also be kept away. After finishing, we recommend disinfecting the site with available disinfectant sprays, according to what the homeowner deems appropriate. The decision rests with the homeowner based on their overall assessment of the situation. If a member of the work team becomes ill, there is no harm in asking them to leave the site to protect the health of the household.” She added, “Furthermore, after the work team has completed their tasks, the gloves should be disposed of in the same trash can, which should be securely sealed with a plastic bag and then disposed of in the main garbage bin outside the house.“ She emphasized that ”these are very simple procedures, and we thank God for the abundance of these products, which are monitored by the Ministry of Commerce, which is committed to maintaining stable prices and preventing hoarding and price gouging. It is simply a matter of vigilance and the duty of every head of household to contribute to protecting their families by following these safety guidelines.“ She extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to ”our sons and daughters on the front lines, the doctors and volunteers from the Ministry of Health.“ The health sector works day and night to serve citizens and residents on this good land,” she announced that the crisis caused by “Corona” requires everyone’s cooperation and understanding of the measures that serve the interests of the country and residents on its good land, praising the thousands of Kuwaiti youth who volunteered out of their national sense to serve their country, commending this national mobilization to benefit from the capabilities of the youth.
