Dr. Wajdan Ali Al-Aqab, the former head of the GCC Emergency Management Center, confirmed that her meeting with Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah at his office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was on the occasion of the end of her tenure as head of the center. She explained that “during the meeting, the Foreign Minister reviewed the detailed report prepared by Dr. Al-Aqab, which included the programs and activities implemented by the center locally, regionally, and internationally during her acting tenure as head of the center in 2019 and 2020. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nasser commended her efforts throughout her five years of service at the center, including three years as Director of the Planning and Preparedness Department and two years as its head.”.
She expressed her gratitude to His Excellency for the efforts of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs in adopting the temporary headquarters of the center until the completion of the main headquarters with all its needs, which will host the Gulf cadres to play their role in addressing regional risks. Al-Aqab also reviewed the center’s efforts during the Corona pandemic and the completion of the draft of the public health risk, which is the fifth risk in the list of regional risks.
Dr. Al-Aqab added: “His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Nasser Al-Sabah concluded the meeting by praising her contributions that enriched the center’s activities, and expressing his thanks and appreciation to her for her excellent representation of the State of Kuwait in this Gulf entity. His Excellency also made sure to review the report.” .
