The Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection announced its approval to participate in Expo 2020 Dubai, which will be held under the title “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” from October 2021 to March 2022, as part of the State of Kuwait’s participation in the exhibition.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Association, said today that the invitation from the Ministry of Information to the Kuwaiti Association for Environmental Protection to participate within the delegations of the State of Kuwait participating in the “Expo 2020 Dubai” exhibition came in appreciation of the Association’s media and awareness efforts and in praise of its prominent efforts in environmental work in the State of Kuwait. She noted that a meeting was held between her and Dr. Bader Al-Anzi, head of the media team for the State of Kuwait’s pavilion at “Expo Dubai 2020”, at his office, in the presence of Haya Al-Fawzan, a member of the team, to discuss the mechanism and form of the Association’s participation within the framework of the State’s overall participation in the exhibition.
Dr. Al-Aqab confirmed that the association has agreed to join the distinguished group that will represent the State of Kuwait at this global event through its participation in some international weeks and days related to the environment. She indicated that she discussed with Dr. Al-Anzi the mechanism of the association's participation in more than one area, and it was noted that November 6 was not among the international days proposed by the Expo management. The association suggested adding the celebration of the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflicts, November 6, which the State of Kuwait is responsible for promoting. She pointed out that “the association, having launched a campaign to promote November 6, has submitted a request to add this day among the international days celebrated during the exhibition, if possible.”.
She mentioned that she discussed with the head of the media team for the State of Kuwait at Expo 2020 Dubai the participation of the “Friends of the Environment Team” of the association in the weeks of the exhibition with a pavilion that includes their projects and scientific experiments related to many areas of environmental work, in addition to the readiness of the association members to present and organize some seminars consistent with the topics of the weeks proposed by the organizing administration of the international exhibition, praising the cooperation and response of Dr. Bader Al-Enezi to the association’s proposals and expressing his praise for the mechanisms and themes of the association’s participation in this international event within the participation of the delegations of the State of Kuwait to appear in a manner befitting the contributions and efforts of Kuwaiti bodies, institutions and organizations.
