The Kuwait Environment Protection Society announced its agreement with the Kuwait Program for Social Responsibility, affiliated with the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, to conclude a cooperation agreement that includes events and activities within the jurisdiction of both parties, as well as cooperation that will be announced later.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Association, confirmed that the visit of Dr. Shehab Al-Othman, President of the Kuwait Program for Social Responsibility, to the Association’s headquarters for a meeting attended by Secretary-General Jenan Behzad witnessed the honoring of Dr. Al-Aqab by the program, in addition to discussing the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between the Association and the program within the scope and dimensions of the community work undertaken by each of them.
Dr. Al-Aqab explained that “there are many events and activities that bring together the association and the program that are consistent with achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the areas of poverty, health, water and food, so that each of them participates in conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops organized by the other party, as well as organizing joint training programs, with the keenness to include a select group of distinguished scientific personnel from each of them, in addition to striving to spread more awareness programs and events among the segments of society.”.
For his part, Dr. Shehab Al-Othman, head of the Kuwait Program for Social Responsibility, noted that the meeting included an introductory presentation of the association’s programs and activities, as well as a discussion of the terms of the planned agreement between the program and the association, in addition to discussing the frameworks of future partnership and what it includes in terms of projects and activities. He pointed out that Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab was given an honorary identity from the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, in addition to being awarded the “Scientific Competence” certificate of the program for her contribution of a scientific paper on sustainable consumption, which she presented at the Ramadan Diwaniya of the Kuwait Program for Social Responsibility.
The head of the Environment Society explained that her honoring by the Kuwait Program for Social Responsibility came after her participation in a lecture on (Organic Waste Management) at the Kuwait Ramadan Diwaniya 2021, which was organized by the program under the slogan of food loss and waste in the context of sustainable food systems, among an elite of about 10 experts and academics, in addition to 8 distinguished staff members from the head and advisors of the Kuwait Program for Social Responsibility.
