The Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection affirmed that its participation in the opening ceremony of Expo 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, reflects the state’s interest in the efforts of civil society organizations and volunteer work, highlighting their role in developing their specialized sectors. It noted that its participation in the exhibition falls within the official participation of the State of Kuwait, announcing that its pavilion is witnessing a large turnout from visitors to the exhibition, including guests and the general public.
Media personality Yasmine Al-Ramzi, a member of the association and a member of the delegation, explained that “Environmental Protection” participated in the activities of the first week, “Climate Change and Biodiversity Week,” which coincided with the announcement of the start of the opening ceremony of the exhibition, with the global presence of heads of state and government, ministers, international experts, thousands of visitors, and millions of followers via satellite screens and social media. She pointed out that the association is showcasing aspects of biodiversity in the State of Kuwait in its pavilion by highlighting the series of documentation of wildlife that the association presents during seven consecutive seasons, and its presentations include the programs “Every Day a Bird, Every Day a Plant, Every Day a Fish, Every Day a Yale in its two parts, Every Day a Picnic in its two parts.”.
Al-Ramzi explained that the head of the bird monitoring and protection team at the association, Muhammad Ghloum Shah, presenter and producer of the Every Day a Bird program, and media personality Yasmine Al-Ramzi, presenter of the Every Day a Picnic 2 and Every Day a Yal 2 programs, welcome visitors to the pavilion to introduce the efforts of the Environment Society in the field of biodiversity through the series of programs monitoring and documenting wildlife in the State of Kuwait.
For his part, Mohammed Shah, head of the Birds Team at the Society and a member of the delegation, said that the Society’s pavilion attracted many Gulf and Arab officials and visitors to the exhibition to attend the opening ceremony in order to learn about no less than 190 television episodes of the program monitoring series. He emphasized that “during the opening ceremony, the Society’s pavilion received praise from its visitors, especially Kuwaiti officials, particularly leaders of the Ministry of Information, most notably the Minister of Information, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Her Excellency Munira Al-Huwaidi, who commended the content of the presentations included in the Society’s pavilion, which highlights the beauty of the components and habitats of biodiversity in the country.“ He pointed out that ”the public and visitors discuss with us the seven programs presented,” noting that the Society’s pavilion includes in its exhibits some of the tools for monitoring components of wildlife, such as cameras and equipment, in a symbolic representation of the effort exerted by the series’ team over seven years and for a period of 5 months annually.
