Janan Behzad, Director of Programs and Activities and Board Member of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, confirmed that the “Electronic Waste Awareness” campaign, sponsored by the Society and organized in cooperation with HSBC Bank and the administrative sector of Al Hamra Real Estate Company, falls within the scope of newly developed program axes of the Society towards preserving the environment and ensuring the dissemination and broadcasting of correct and sound environmental awareness among various groups and sectors of society.
Behzad explained that the three-part campaign was launched on September 11 and will continue until September 18, noting that it has multiple stages and activities, including, in addition to the media awareness aspect, the introduction of a specialized survey to measure the level of awareness among the participating groups and to identify, after analyzing the results, the most prominent and important levels of environmental knowledge and culture among them, in order to facilitate pointing out specific recommendations regarding this, as well as the stage of collecting and sorting in boxes prepared for these operations, in addition to distributing a set of publications about the campaign and the issue of electronic waste, its nature, its dangers and ways to overcome it, in addition to making the most of the mobile electrical panels that enhance awareness of the campaign.
For his part, Samer Al-Abed, CEO of HSBC Middle East Limited – Kuwait, said, “At HSBC, we are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities to the community. For her part, Abrar Al Habib, CEO of the administrative sector at Al Hamra Real Estate Company, confirmed that the company’s enhancement strategy is included in environmental sustainability and social responsibility towards preserving the environment and spreading awareness, noting that the company has many awareness campaigns regarding the environment, in addition to its keenness to apply many international standards in the field of recycling in Al Hamra Business Tower.
Abrar Al Habib explained that Al Hamra Real Estate’s participation in the campaign is dedicated to functional and societal concepts and values through which it measures the cognitive efficiency among the participants“ categories towards being mindful of the functional and societal environment in their surroundings through environmental behavior that promotes the values of environmental citizenship and the societal environment as an establishment that has a reciprocal impact on the surrounding natural environment.
