Proposed training courses and workshops for afforestation volunteers

Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab confirmed that “the Kuwait Environment Protection Society has a vision regarding ornamental agriculture in the country by utilizing the list of volunteer individuals and volunteer teams and keeping it in a list that represents the passionate workforce in this field, as well as the importance of providing training courses and workshops to discuss the process of afforestation and beautification of some sites.”.

This came after the association responded to the invitation of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources to civil society organizations and Kuwaiti volunteer teams to attend an expanded meeting at the Authority’s headquarters to discuss the mechanism of cooperation with the Authority in the field of ornamental agriculture in residential areas and to learn about the vision of each of these organizations and teams.

During her participation in the meeting, Dr. Al-Aqab expressed “the importance of adopting some native plants in landscaping due to their ability to withstand high heat and salinity in the soil, and benefiting from the Authority’s experts in the agricultural and native plant field in determining the appropriate type of plant for each location, which saves many natural resources such as water and the efforts of volunteers.”.

The head of the Environment Association noted that the meeting was a rich source of proposals and suggestions through the broad participation of community organizations and volunteer teams, praising the excellent management of the meeting by the Deputy Director of the Authority for the Ornamental Agriculture Sector, Ghanem Abdul Wahab Al-Sanad, and his keenness to give everyone the opportunity to present many of their proposed visions and plans.
