The association calls for support for environmental volunteer initiatives and projects: their benefits are economic and social, and they reduce pressure on the environment.

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society commended the Ministry of Commerce for its interest in and encouragement of environmental volunteer initiatives and projects that contribute to strengthening community-based environmental action and its role in executive work in this regard. This came after the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Mohammed Al-Aiban, tasked a meeting between the Ministry of Commerce team, which included Abdulmohsen Al-Babtain, Bader Al-Hajri, Dr. Mohammed Al-Zayed, and Dr. Barak Al-Gharaballi, and the management of the non-profit environmental project "Amniyah," represented by CEO Sanaa Al-Ghamlas, Abdullah Al-Zaidi, and Anas Bader. During the meeting, a sustainable strategy was developed with the aim of achieving a new Kuwait, protecting the environment, and promoting a culture of sorting plastic at the source for recycling.

The association stressed “the importance of the role of the Ministry of Trade in supporting environmental youth projects and initiatives, including projects related to recycling used tires, recycling organic waste, fish farming, growing and propagating native plants, and various recycling projects, in addition to establishing waste sorting centers, by facilitating procedures, enacting laws, issuing supportive decisions, and preparing a supportive strategy for such projects, as they bring economic, environmental, and social benefits to the country alike. The success of such projects reduces the burden on the environment by reducing pollution and landfills, and provides new job opportunities in a changing labor market to keep pace with international developments in this field.”.

The Environment Association stressed “the importance of all entities in the country following the same path as the Ministry of Commerce by supporting environmental projects, with the need to move towards enhancing the funding capabilities of environmental youth projects and initiatives.”.

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society called upon all entities in the country, including banking and financial institutions, companies, and business leaders, to support such projects to advance and continue the activities and events aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting the values of environmental citizenship. This is all in pursuit of preserving the environment and its natural components and elements in all areas. The Society emphasized that it possesses a comprehensive programmatic vision in this regard, encompassing numerous environmental projects whose implementation is currently hindered by a lack of financial support. It noted that this type of support falls within the realm of social responsibility towards the environment, aiming to establish partnerships that benefit the environment in the State of Kuwait.
