Environmental cooperation with the Arab Open University and Kuwait Flour Mills

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society organized a field visit for a student delegation from the Arab Open University in Kuwait to the Kuwait Flour Mills Company, within the framework of the scientific and training program plan of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Specialized Environmental Training affiliated with the Society for the current academic year 2023/2024.

In this context, Nawaf Al-Muwail, coordinator of training programs at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Specialized Environmental Training, confirmed that the visit comes in line with the goals of the shared social responsibility of the Environment Protection Society, the Arab Open University and the Kuwait Flour Mills Company, noting that the visit is a series of annual visits to the center to spread correct awareness and reliable knowledge related to food security in the State of Kuwait first and then global food security.

Ghazi Sayer Al-Anzi, Head of Community Engagement and Marketing at the Arab Open University, explained that during the visit, the university's student delegation learned about numerical statistics and a phased plan for the manufacturing processes of all products included in the work of the Kuwait Flour Mills Company, in order to support and enhance the Kuwaiti product and enrich the components of Kuwaiti food security as one of the priorities of the state's strategies to secure the requirements of the local market.

Sayer Al-Anzi pointed out the importance and necessity of supporting local products, which are considered the best options for reducing the carbon footprint, considering that such visits and field trips promote social and environmental responsibility and emphasize more sustainable and healthy communities.

Nawaf Al-Muwail explained that the program plan for scientific and field visits to the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Specialized Environmental Training, affiliated with the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, is consistent with Kuwait’s vision for sustainable development, as it provides correct science, knowledge, and awareness related to this matter. He announced that these visits support the comprehensive qualification and preparation of young people with the components of community environmental work, and this is what was emphasized by the visit to the Kuwait Flour Mills Company with regard to industrial environmental security in one of the most important and prominent Kuwaiti companies keen to follow industrial environmental security standards.
