Lieutenant General Pilot Bandar Al-Muzain receives the President of the Association

Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, affirmed that “the Society’s communication with the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army and the renewal of joint cooperation that has extended for years and decades reflects positively and has a good impact on protecting the environment and promoting community work and environmental volunteering in the State of Kuwait, which the Kuwait Environment Protection Society has been leading for 50 years, and its achievements and roles are still ongoing.” This came after her meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Lieutenant General Pilot Bandar Salem Abdullah Al-Muzain, at his office, praising his warm reception and his awareness of the decades of distinguished giving and social responsibility between the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army and the Kuwait Environment Protection Society.

Dr. Al-Aqab explained that “the meeting represented a strong boost to the joint cooperation that the Chief of Staff is committed to for the association, based on its social responsibilities towards the people of the nation and Kuwaiti civil society organizations, as well as the convergence of visions and the alignment of goals to ensure that its national roles are consistent with the programs and projects of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society.”.

She explained that “His Excellency the Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Lieutenant General Pilot Bandar Salem Abdullah Al-Muzain, praised the cooperation with the association in support and strengthening its projects and programs, commending its embrace of young Kuwaiti volunteers, and expressing the continuation of this cooperation through the General Staff’s continued provision of the logistical support required by the work of the association’s teams and committees.”.

Dr. Al-Aqab added: “The cooperation between the General Staff of the Army is embodied in a crucible of community and environmental giving over years of joint work and distinguished cooperation. The manifestations of this cooperation have appeared in many areas and aspects, including official meetings and receptions, and the provision of logistical support in the form of helicopters to carry out aerial surveys for many of the association’s programs and projects, including: photographing environmental sites and natural habitats, aerial surveys after camping seasons to assess the environmental impact in the terrestrial environment, as for marine environment studies, which include searching for whales and dead animals to prevent navigational hazards, aerial surveys to assess the red tide phenomenon, aerial surveys to assess the impact of desalination and power plants on the marine environment, an aerial survey of the topography of Bubiyan Island, aerial surveys to inspect and study floods and rainfall, and regular participation in providing logistical support for the series of documentary programs on wildlife in Kuwait, which the association has presented annually since 2015.”.
