أكدت د. وجدان العقاب رئيس الجمعية الكويتية لحماية البيئة أن اجتماعها مع ملحق التعاون الثقافي بالسفارة الفرنسية سامية سيجاي أسفر عن مناقشة العديد من مقترحات وأطروحات أطر التعاون البيئي المستقبلي بين الجمعية والسفارة والتي تعزز أهمية التعاون البيئي بينهما. وأوضحت د.العقاب أنها ناقشت مع سامية سيجاي العديد من الأفكار لتفعيل الكثير من الأنشطة المتبادلة والمشتركة، معلنة أن الأنشطة بين الجمعية والسفارة الفرنسية دائما ما تكتسب أهمية خاصة كونها متنوعة، لافتة إلى أن الاجتماع شهد مناقشة إمكانية ترتيب السفارة الفرنسية لبرنامج تدريبي تعليمي تثقيفي بيئي ترفيهي بالعاصمة (باريس) لشباب الجمعية أعضاء فريق أصدقاء البيئة، مثل المدينة العلمية ومحطة الطاقة النووية والمحميات الطبيعية ومصانع إعادة التدوير.
She noted that the launch and organization of environmental, cultural and applied events, including training programs, workshops and field visits to the most prominent French environmental landmarks, were presented and discussed through a phased series to be implemented in the French capital, Paris. She also pointed out the proposal to have the French Embassy participate in environmental scientific forums and conferences organized by the association during next December and during the first half of next year, 2025, through the possibility of utilizing the (international speaker) program to host specialized speakers to enrich them, in addition to coordinating and arranging for the launch of the first edition of the (Kuwaiti-French Environmental Week).
