The Kuwait Environment Protection Society, in a press release, extended its warmest congratulations to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, and to His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him, on the occasion of the raising of the flag and the commencement of the national celebrations. In this regard, the Society confirmed that it has prepared a program of events to participate in the national celebrations, including a range of local and international activities, as well as scientific, practical, and field activities for its specialized teams and committees.
In its statement, the Environment Society noted that “between 1974, when it was launched, and 2025, fifty-one years have passed, which is the age of that civil environmental organization, the Kuwaiti, Gulf, Arab, and even international one, despite the fact that the testimony about it is biased, but it is the “understanding of the current reality.” The journey of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, “Kuwaiti in identity and programs,” began, and its activities soon branched out, and the activities overlapped and aligned with Gulf, Arab, and international entities, institutions, and organizations, and it even reached a point where it became the owner of international initiatives and global activities, until it obtained the status of observer at the United Nations through the gateway of its environmental program for West Asia.“.
The association added, “Fifty-one years have passed, but that is not enough to keep pace with the scope of its programs and activities, whether awareness-raising, training, practical, or educational. When the Kuwait Environment Protection Society reaches its fifty-first milestone, this in itself is a testament to its era, both as an umbrella organization and for all those who have led and managed it, from boards of directors to specialized teams and committees. They are truly partners in its successes.“ The association also stated, ”It has often contributed to the establishment of many environmental entities abroad, or was among the first to gain membership in the executive offices of many of them, and then chaired many committees and sectors stemming from them, and has always been a source of pride for Kuwait in those international forums.“.
The Kuwait Environment Protection Society concluded its statement by pledging to “the country, the community, and those who place their trust in it” to remain true to its commitment and approach, ”working tirelessly and giving without complaint.” It affirmed, “We are ambassadors of our generous society, and we bear the responsibility entrusted to us, and we will be a hand that builds and elevates the structure of the Kuwaiti environmental issue, which is intertwined and interconnected with all aspects of the blessed development process in our beloved homeland.”.
