The association warns of the weather conditions: Stay in your homes and avoid flood-prone areas.

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society broadcast a message of reassurance and calm to citizens and residents regarding the prevailing weather conditions in the country these days. The Society, through its General Assembly member, meteorologist Issa Ramadan, stressed that “the situation calls for staying at home when the rains begin and not risking entering low-lying areas and desert floods where water collects, and not passing through historical flood areas, which inevitably cause cars to be swept away by their force.”.

Expert Issa Ramadan explained that “the weather conditions and the rain and clouds we are witnessing these days due to the deepening low pressure system causing instability are an inevitable result of the collision of two air masses. One is a very warm and humid moving air mass coming from the Arabian Sea and the Arabian Gulf northwest of the Arabian Peninsula, and the other is a cold moving air mass southeast of the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula, forming a warm air front and heavy rain (drenches) that affected last night, Tuesday, and are expected to continue tonight, Wednesday, followed by tomorrow, Thursday, from the afternoon through the evening. He confirmed the passage of a relatively cold air front accompanied by thunderstorms with amounts ranging from moderate to heavy at times.”.

A member of the Environmental Society added, “Therefore, we urge desert travelers and road users to avoid venturing into low-lying areas, valleys, and floodplains, and to stay home to prevent harm and danger until this weather system passes. A gradual improvement in the weather is expected to begin on Friday, the 27th of this month.” Ramadan stated, ”The rain will affect the eastern regions of the Arabian Gulf and Saudi Arabia, extending to the UAE and Oman, as the low-pressure system passes through from tonight and tomorrow. It will be accompanied by moderate to heavy rain and hail. We wish safety to everyone in Kuwait and the GCC countries.”.
