The Kuwait Environment Protection Society participates in the 6th International Conference and Exhibition on Health, Safety and Environment
The Kuwait Environment Protection Society participated in the 6th International Conference and Exhibition for Health, Safety and Environment for this year, which is being held from February 12-14 under the patronage of the Minister of Oil.
The head of the “Environmental Protection” association, Wajdan Al-Aqab, revealed that the association is participating, represented by the chairman of the board of directors, in the Supreme Organizing Committee of the conference, in addition to the participation of the Secretary-General of the association, Janan Behzad, as a member of the technical committee of the conference, as well as participation in an exhibition of awareness publications in the fields of security, safety and the environment.
She pointed out that the conference, which includes a number of senior speakers from the public and private sectors in Kuwait and from around the world to discuss challenges related to health, safety and environment, is included in many of its goals and objectives in the association’s programs and activities, which are keen on broad community participation through it.
Al-Aqab stated that the association’s participation received great praise from the sponsor of the conference and exhibition, the Minister of Oil, who expressed his appreciation for the association’s participation as a civil organization working hand in hand with all concerned parties in the country, and commended all its specialized roles in supporting official environmental plans and programs and linking those parties and civil organizations.
She explained that the association is participating in this year’s Health, Safety and Environment Conference and Exhibition through more than one environmental activity, both scientific and awareness-raising, noting that the association will present a lecture and participate in the exhibition.
She pointed out that, based on the association’s social responsibility, it decided to actively participate in 12 sessions and 4 workshops included in the conference agenda, adding that she represented the association in the meetings of the Supreme Organizing Committee that were recently held to follow up on the work plans.
She stated that the conference aims to enhance Kuwait’s commitment to the highest health, safety and environmental standards, and to consolidate Kuwait’s leading position regionally and internationally in these areas. It also aims to become the nucleus of a broad awareness campaign on health, safety and environmental issues in the petroleum sector and all economic and social activities in Kuwait, and to consolidate a culture of commitment to an environmentally friendly society that takes into account health, safety, environmental and sustainable development standards.
Wajdan Al-Aqab praised the continued commitment to the health, safety and environment strategy in all oil projects implemented by the State of Kuwait, with a growing awareness that the strategy of applying health, safety and environment standards is of fundamental importance to ensure their success and continuity.
