Protecting coastal resources through parks and marine nature reserves is a necessary requirement for the sustainability of the future of the coastal environment to achieve the goals of sustainable development for the coasts. These efforts require taking appropriate measures to divide the coasts according to their suitability for use and to continuously monitor and evaluate their environmental status.

Behzad explained that the Kuwait Environment Protection Society had previously announced its support and participation in its annual program (Beach Safari) in the “Our Seas Are Clean” campaign launched by the United Nations Environment Programme with the aim of increasing environmental awareness and calling for attention to the country’s coasts, cleaning them and protecting their components, noting that the program’s activities are consistent with the United Nations campaign (Our Seas Are Clean), indicating that communication was made with the United Nations Environment Programme to include the program and register its activities in the “Our Seas Are Clean” campaign.

The Secretary General of the Environmental Protection Association concluded that the “Our Seas Are Clean” campaign, which was launched during the World Ocean Economic Summit in Bali, urges governments to commit to policies to reduce the use of plastic and calls on consumers to put an end to this habit of using plastic before it ends up in our seas. She pointed out that more than eight million tons of plastic materials are thrown into the oceans annually, causing damage to marine life, fisheries and tourism, and costing countries billions of dollars.
