The Environmental Society launches a field environmental training week for high school and university students.

Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, announced that the Society is organizing a field day, including scientific and awareness sessions on the components of wildlife in the Jahra Reserve, which the Environment Public Authority is paying great attention to due to its richness in a wide system of many highly sensitive environments. This is within the framework of the activities of (Field Environmental Training Week) within the program to empower young people and youth, which it is organizing during the period from 7-10 January for high school and university students to introduce the importance of heading towards environmental university studies.

Al-Jahra Reserve
Al-Aqab revealed that the week began with the activities of the first day, which included a scientific field trip to the Jahra Reserve. The Director General of the Environment Public Authority, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, received the student team at the reserve, encouraging their environmental interests and appreciating the association’s efforts in enriching and promoting them. He accompanied them on a tour around the reserve, listening to explanations from those concerned at the reserve.

Components and location of the reserve
Dr. Abdullah Zeidan from the Environment Public Authority delivered a lecture and workshop on the reserve's components, its global significance, and its place within the Environment Public Authority's focus on environmentally and naturally sensitive sites, given its status as a global ecosystem. Additionally, Abdulaziz Al-Yousef, a member of the bird monitoring and protection team, explained the bird monitoring process and its importance within the reserve.

Study of environmental sciences
She explained that the week's program aims to encourage students to study environmental science and environmental engineering, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of studying environmental disciplines and getting to know the different environments in Kuwait up close, as well as introducing the future of jobs with environmental specialization in Kuwait, and forming a student team enthusiastic about environmental studies that helps spread this culture among their peers, and consolidate the values and concepts of environmental citizenship and enhance field environmental awareness.
