The Environmental Film Festival in the Kingdom of Morocco honors the "Wildlife Documentary Series in Kuwait" by the Environment Society

The “Wildlife Monitoring in the State of Kuwait Documentary Series,” produced by the Kuwait Environment Protection Society for 10 consecutive years, received special recognition from the 13th International Environmental Film Festival, organized by the Talassemtane Association for Environment and Development in Chefchaouen, Kingdom of Morocco, and held under the slogan “Green Cinema for a Healthy and Sustainable Climate.”.

Dr. Mohammed Sattar, Director of the International Environmental Film Festival, confirmed in a press statement that “honoring the Kuwait Environment Protection Society at the International Environmental Film Festival, in a distinguished event and in front of a diverse audience of cinema, environment and environmental media enthusiasts, is a well-deserved honor during the opening of the thirteenth session of the festival. This honor is in recognition of the great efforts made by the Society in the field of environmental awareness and environmental media over the last decade.”.

Dr. Mohammed Sattar added, “Since 2015, the association has launched a documentary series entitled “Monitoring Wildlife in the State of Kuwait,” which was produced by the Environmental Media and Documentation Center. This series continued for nine seasons, presenting more than 250 television episodes, covering all components and elements of wildlife in Kuwait, highlighting its beauty and the importance of protecting and preserving it.”.

The director of the International Environmental Film Festival in Morocco stated that “the documentary series produced by the association is distinguished by its environmental awareness, as it has succeeded in spreading environmental awareness among various segments of society, stressing the need to preserve the Kuwaiti environment and nature. The episodes covered diverse and comprehensive topics about the environment, which contributed to enhancing environmental knowledge among viewers.”.

He pointed out that “the series was distinguished by its high production quality, which helped to deliver the environmental message effectively and attractively. In addition, the use of modern technologies in filming and production contributed to highlighting the aesthetics of the Kuwaiti environment in an impactful way.” He added, “To expand the scope of impact, the episodes were translated into English and shown on various international television channels throughout the year. This helped to spread Kuwaiti environmental awareness on a global level and draw attention to Kuwait’s efforts in the field of environmental protection.”.

Dr. Mohammed Sattar noted, “The series has won numerous awards at international environmental film festivals, reflecting global recognition of the quality and importance of the work presented by the Kuwait Environment Protection Society. The awards received by the series confirmed its high value and important contributions in the field of environmental media. In 2020, the series was adopted as a scientific resource supporting the educational curriculum in the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education, and it is now being utilized within the framework of the Ministry’s curriculum plan, which enhances environmental awareness among students and contributes to establishing the principles of environmental protection in school curricula.”.

The director of the International Environmental Film Festival in the Kingdom of Morocco concluded by saying, “The honor bestowed upon the Kuwait Environment Protection Society at the Chefchaouen International Environmental Film Festival was not merely a celebration of its achievements, but rather an appreciation of its continuous efforts and significant contributions to spreading environmental awareness and protecting wildlife. This honor reflects the importance of the work the Society is doing and encourages continued efforts to achieve further accomplishments in the field of environmental awareness and environmental media.”.
