Within the framework of cooperation and community partnership between the Kuwait Environment Protection Society and the Kuwaiti government agencies, institutions and civil society organizations, His Excellency Hamad Jassim Al-Habashi, Governor of Al-Jahra, received Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Society, at his office in the Governorate’s General Diwan, to discuss aspects and methodology of joint cooperation and to advance its executive and applied mechanisms towards enhancing the capabilities and potential of the people of the Governorate in line with the specialization of the Society for Environmental Protection.
In this context, Dr. Al-Aqab confirmed that the Governor of Al-Jahra, His Excellency Hamad Al-Habashi, welcomed opening the field of community partnership between the governorate and the association, stressing his keenness on the importance of strengthening the association’s roles and the success of its activities dedicated to the people of the governorate, as well as his emphasis on involving the association’s teams and committees in the community events organized by the governorate within its scope, in addition to his support for the association’s proposal to reactivate the roles of the governorates’ environment committee with a developed approach in accordance with the changing patterns of environmental issues within the scope of each governorate.
The head of the Environmental Protection Association concluded that the meeting reviewed the association’s journey, which is celebrating its golden jubilee this year, marking 50 years since its inception in 1974, and highlighted the most prominent milestones of that journey at the local, regional and international levels, praising the interaction of the Governor of Jahra, His Excellency Hamad Al-Habashi, with the association’s request to provide a permanent headquarters to continue its active journey and its multifaceted environmental community activities.
