Joint cooperation between the association and the General Authority for Communications and Information Technology

Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection, emphasized the crucial role of the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) in regulating the telecommunications sector in Kuwait. This came during her meeting with Dr. Khaled Al-Zamel, Chairman of CITRA, at the Authority's headquarters. The meeting focused on mechanisms for cooperation in supporting volunteer teams by facilitating communication between teams in remote and challenging areas lacking mobile network coverage. This support would utilize secure networks to ensure the safety of volunteers, protect the confidentiality of wildlife sites from leaks when using open public wireless networks, and contribute to the success of field trips. Dr. Al-Zamel expressed his appreciation for the Society's voluntary and national work and pledged to cooperate with the Society and assist it in securing secure and reliable communications in border and remote areas without mobile network coverage. Dr. Al-Aqab noted that both parties affirmed their commitment to strong cooperation and their desire to enhance the safety and security of volunteers, support field environmental work, and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive environmental data, in accordance with best practices in secure communication systems.
