“Disaster Risk Reduction” is a week-long awareness program by the society.
Dr. Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, announced that the scale and diversity of local, regional, and international events through which the Society participates in the global celebrations of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction reflect the importance it attaches to the content and symbolism of these events, commensurate with the stature and value of the participating scientists and experts, and consequently, the implications thereof.

The Kuwait Environment Protection Society affirmed that its participation in the opening ceremony of Expo 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, reflects the state’s interest in the efforts of civil society organizations and volunteer work, highlighting their role in developing their specialized sectors. It noted that its participation in the exhibition falls within the official participation of the State of Kuwait, announcing that its pavilion is witnessing a large turnout from visitors to the exhibition, including guests and the general public.
A study by the association on the environmental condition of mudflats in the State of Kuwait
The Kuwait Environment Protection Society called for adherence to precautions that must be taken when spending time on beaches, primarily safety and security standards, especially in muddy areas such as the open northern coasts of Kuwait. They also advised against using the higher areas of the beach above the high tide mark for sports activities, in order to preserve the habitats of animals that live in the area.

Wajdan Al-Aqab, President of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society, emphasized the importance of the practical trip she organized for her Friends of the Environment team to the Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Oil and Gas Exhibition at the Kuwait Oil Company, as part of the activities of the Field Environmental Training Week within the Youth Empowerment Program, which she organizes for high school and university students to introduce the importance of pursuing university environmental studies.
