The association provides multiple opportunities to participate in environmental events, enabling individuals to contribute to environmental protection and gain practical experience.

Key community events and initiatives

The first forum and exhibition for environmental engineers

A forum specializing in environmental engineering, organized by the Environmental Engineers Team in the Association, brings together environmental engineers and stakeholders to present environmental projects that contribute to protecting the environment from an engineering perspective. The first edition was launched in 2025.

Operation Sea Turtle - Annual Beach Cleanup Campaign

Field initiatives organized by the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection in partnership with the Japanese Society in the State of Kuwait since 2000, aimed at protecting the marine and coastal environment and sea turtle habitats and promoting positive environmental behavior in the community.

International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict (November 6)

An annual celebration commemorating the promotion of a national day, which is the extinguishing of the last burning oil well in 1991, to an international day at the request of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection, with the support of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001, by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly No. (A/RES/56/4).

The awareness campaign for November 6th was launched in 2017.

International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction - 13 October

An annual celebration that raises awareness of disaster risks and how to deal with them, according to the Sendai Framework (2015-2030). The association is a member of the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction Programme (UNDRR), a member of the Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Risk Reduction (GNDR), and the founder of the National Committee (GNDR-KUWAIT) since 2022.

Environmental awareness exhibitions

The exhibition highlights the country’s biodiversity and different environments through photography, in which members of the association’s teams participate, in addition to different categories of community members.

Summer and spring environmental clubs

Organizing summer and spring clubs for children under eighteen, which are predominantly media-oriented, interactive, and excitingly experimental, to raise awareness among this important age group about various environmental issues and how we can make a difference.

At the conclusion of the second session of the Arab Environment Forum in the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Al-Oqab presented the West Asia Regional Statement in alliance with Arab organizations accredited to the United Nations.
